Joy when shared doubles, was wonderfully made manifest on 5th January 2020 – the Solemnity of the Epiphany – when six Salesian Cooperators of Don Bosco Lonavla unit reached out to celebrate their Christmas joy with the young people in rehab at the MariaAshiana Don Bosco Therapeutic Centre.
Envisaged as a small event to give Christmas gifts to the 9 youngsters who are in the rehabilitation programme under the monitored mentoring of Father Xavier Devadas, Director of the facility, the outreach turned out to be a very big experience in sharing love, cheering hearts and table-fellowship.
The time spent in chatting with the young and a shared lunch of delicious chicken biryani, which the cooperators sponsored, was followed by giving of gifts, culminating in a guided tour of the ecological garden, conceptualised/actualised by Father Devadas who shared few insights on the need to be more caring towards nature and mother earth.
